Cover Letter

First off, I would like to introduce myself.  I am Erika Kindred and I have gone to San Lorenzo Valley ever since kindergarten.  The past thirteen years of my life have been a wild ride that has truly flown by.  I remember back in fourth grade getting my school email for the first time, which started with the year I would graduate, and thinking 2022 would never come.  Little did I know after growing up as quickly as I could that I would wish to go back to the days when I would have been read to while sitting “criss-cross applesauce” on the rug.  Looking back at my childhood made me realize how fortunate I am to have a family with very diverse hobbies.  Whether it is playing baseball, softball, or golf.  Riding motorcycles and horses.  To building and remodeling houses.  I have grown up around many different things that have shaped me into who I am today.  While all of those hobbies are very important to me, there is one I cherish over any other.  Working on and supporting race cars.  Ever since I was little I have been going to race tracks and watching my cousin Chad.  He then turned his love of vintage car racing into a family business that I am beyond lucky to be a part of.  Any free day off from school, or during every holiday break, I can be found working with race cars.  It requires very demanding and challenging tasks, but the reward of seeing the cars perform to their full potential is worth everything.  It has introduced me to not only a ton of amazing people but also in some ways my true self.  Racing pumps through my heart and veins and is something I am exceedingly proud to be a part of.
