S.L.O.'s ~ 1.2, 1.3

In our line of work, we have to take everything seriously.  Every turn of the wrench, psi of air put in the tires, level of coolant in the radiator, and the list goes on.  All of the people involved want to see the cars perform to their highest potential, which takes commitment and dependability.  Working on historic cars that are the exact ones that raced back in their time period means they are very expensive.  Some are worth just under one hundred thousand dollars, whereas others are worth well over a million.  The owners expect the cars to be Impeccable, which is why my cousin's business name is Impeccable Inc. He holds all of us and how we work on the cars to the highest standards.  Before each session, we place a check-off list sticker on the corner of the car's windshield.  It is a way we make sure we check over all of the necessary aspects of the car before they go out on the track.  We make sure the car has its oil and coolant at the proper levels, full fuel tanks, lug nuts torqued to the proper foot-pound, tire pressure at a specific psi based on the car and front or rear tires, as well as clean windows and mirrors so the driver can have the best experience possible.  I had one specific experience last August that I hold as one of the greatest things I have ever done in my life.  We were doing a photo shoot on the track with all of the Ford Mustangs in the Trans-Am group.  I had ridden as a passenger with my uncle in one of the cars we supported onto the track.  While the pictures were being taken the owner of another car had to leave and was trying to find someone to drive his car back to the paddock off the track.  One of our clients threw my name out since everyone else was already driving a car.  At first, I thought it was a joke because this car was arguably one of the most important cars at the event.  It turned out they were being honest and I had the opportunity to drive a car worth over a million dollars on Laguna Seca’s race track back into the paddock.  It was not an easy task whatsoever, the adrenaline was immense, but I knew I just got to do something not very many people can say they have done.  It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience at seventeen.  I knew I had gotten the opportunity because of the work I put into making the cars as perfect as I can.  No matter what job I get asked to do I focus hard and put every ounce of effort I have into it.  After that experience, I realized our clients recognize the effort I put into their cars and how much they trust me with them.  From the big projects like changing motors to the small things like wiping the cars every morning when we are at an event; I love being around these amazing machines and am beyond grateful I am a part of a team who feels the same way I do.
